I've been recording and producing music since 1982 — sometimes as a full-time professional, sometimes as a dedicated hobbyist working on my own projects between other careers. Most "console-modeling" plugins simulate a single channel strip in exhaustive, CPU-hungry detail — accurate down to individual component tolerances. That's the right choice when you're processing two or three key tracks.

It's the wrong choice when you need an instance running on every single track in a 78-piece session, all at once, in real time, with zero added latency.

So VisiStage doesn't chase component-level circuit accuracy. It chases something harder to pull off at scale: character and cohesion across an entire mix, at a CPU cost that lets you actually use it on everything, everywhere, all the time — without farming instances out to something like AudioGridder, which breaks VisiStage's shared 3D room model entirely.
